BNP not allowed to hold Iftar parties: Rizvi

BNP has alleged that police and Awami League (AL) cadres are not allowing it to hold Iftar parties across the country.

The party came up with the statement in a press release signed its Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

BNP alleged that Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) men attacked and foiled an Iftar party organised by BNP in Palash upazila of Narsingdi on Friday, which was supposed to be attended by the party’s standing committee member Dr Moin Khan.

Furthermore, BNP also claimed that police foiled several Iftar parties including some in Dohar upazila of Dhaka, Shibchar upazila of Madaripur, Tangail, Bhola’s Tazumuddin and Natore.

In the press release, the party claimed that murder, forced disappearance, abduction and extra-judicial killings have been going on even in the holy month of Ramadan.
