Bangladesh win historic Test against England

Sport Desk: Bangladesh have won by 108 runs in the second and final of a two match series to secure first ever Test cricket victory against England at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.

This is the most famous day in Bangladesh cricket history. Tigers have been a Test nation since 2000 and this is the eighth victory overall, but none come as close to this for the size of scalp.

Chasing 273, England went to tea with 100 for no loss, but Miraz and Shakib masterminded an unbelievable turnaround.

In-form Mehedi Hasan Miraz brought Bangladesh back to the game with six quick wickets while, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan bagged rest of the four wickets.

Off-spinner Mehedi picked up his second five-wicket haul in the test for a match-haul of 12 wickets as the hosts tied up the two-match series at 1-1.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz was awarded both Man of the Match and Man of the Series prizes.

Earlier, England had won all previous nine matches against their South Asian rivals.
