Tamim hits century in tour match

Sport Desk: Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal smashed a century against Sri Lanka Cricket President's XI in a 2-day tour match in Moratuwa Thursday.

Tamim reached his century in the 46th over bowled by spinner Praveen Jayawickrama. The 27-year Bangladesh opener picked up 24 runs in the over with 3 sixes, a four and a couple.

Tamim eventually was retired out scoring 136 off 182 balls with 9 fours and 7 sixes.

Bangladesh will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is against Sri Lanka in the tour.

The first Test will be held from 7 March at Galle International Stadium. On 15 March, the second Test will commence at the P Sara Oval, Colombo, which incidentally will be the 100th for Tigers.
